Celje road bike tour
Mostly flat route on minor roads, with a short climb near Lake Žovnek. The route first leads through the villages of Braslovče and Polzela, past Šenek Castle towards Šempeter in the Lower Savinja Valley. Shortly before Šempeter, turn left at towards Ložnica pri Žalcu and cross under the motorway.
A short climb through the forest brings us to the regional road Arja vas - Velenje. This leads past Velika Pirešica up a small hill (short ascent), followed by a short descent to the right towards Lopata and Celje. Following the signposts, we reach the centre of Celje, cross the Savinja river there and continue back to Griže - via Prebold to Hotel Grof.
